i like watching these kinds of videos because it gives me a rough image of how urban riding is in other cities (this one’s in new york) and compare it to riding conditions in manila. i also get insights on the behavior of drivers there as compared to the local drivers.
for starters, the streets seem to have wider lanes because there’s enough space in between vehicles for a bike. here during peak traffic hours, 12 — 15 inches between vehicles is probably the norm.
we also have more types of vehicles on our streets with jeeps being at the top of the list and tricycles — pedicabs, sidecars, kuligligs — being a close second.

i think this is worth a reblog and it also gives me an idea on a “costume” I can wear during night rides this halloween.
