first ride for 2008

first ride of the year. its a 20km (or thereabouts) loop in san pablo city. the pictures were actually taken 31 december 2007 but i took cherry out on the same loop on 02 january 2008 and i didn’t have time to take pictures then so…
i don’t know the total distance covered because i don’t have a computer on the bike and the photos were taken by a 0.3 megapix camera phone so quality is not “up there”.
(above) start of the ride. it was mostly cement roads but take note of the open runoff on the right.
(above) welcome to barangay dolores. start of a deceptive climb — you’d think its easy but its the type that does up sloooowly.
(above) palakpakin lake. we have seven lakes in the city. this is one of the smaller ones.
(above) i didn’t know we had rice fields within the city perimeter. duh. i should go out more often. it started to drizzle after taking this photo.
absolutely fun ride. cherry had a mountain bike so gearing for her was not really a problem. by choice, i was running a 42 x 21 most of the way. ugh. the burn. the burn.
i’d do it again though.
